G. Arthur Weaver, 83, of New Holland, passed away on February 14 2017 surrounded by family at Maple Farm Nursing Center, Akron. He was the husband of Aurora G. (Garcia) Weaver, with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage, and who preceded him in death in 2015.
Born in New Holland, PA, he was the son of the late George A. and Helen S. (Mellinger) Weaver.
Arthur served in the US Army during the Korean War. He owned his own business, Geo. A. Weaver, Inc. He served on a number of Boards including Sovereign Bank. He was an active member of the New Holland community including the Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and Planning Commission. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he assisted on its Financial Committee for a number of years.
Surviving are four children: Shirley A. Weaver of Berwyn, PA, James A. Weaver of Houston, TX, Philip G. Weaver, husband of Stephanie M. (Glassgow) Weaver, of New Holland, and Patricia G. Weaver, companion of Karen L. Hildebrand of Littlestown, PA; four grandsons: Kristofer W. Seegmueller of Los Angeles, CA, Justin W. Seegmueller of Philadelphia, PA, Wade X. Weaver and G. Alexander Weaver; two granddaughters: Lorin R. Ricigliano, wife of Michael, of Elverson, PA, and Darian N. Saez, wife of Joshua, of New Holland; and three great-grandsons: Jackson C. Ricigliano, Greyson J. Saez, and Theodore A. Saez.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland, PA 17557 with Father Patrick McGarrity officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, New Holland. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 17 from 6-8 PM at Beck’s Funeral Home, 315 East Main St., New Holland, PA 17557. Donations in Arthur’s honor may be made to Maple Farms Nursing Home or Lions Club of New Holland.
