Gerald B. “Doc” Hershey, 91, of New Holland, died Friday, March 30, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care.
Born in Ninepoints, he was the son of the late Frank and Marian (Baldwin) Hershey.
Doc served in the Navy during World War II and retired from the former Sperry new Holland in 1986 after 32 years as a truck driver. Following his retirement, he also worked for Neuber Concrete, Kimberton helping on their boat from 1986 until 2004.
He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Compass, the White Horse Fire Co., P. J. Bair VFW, Gap, Conestoga Post #662, American Legion, New Holland, and Lodge #417, F & A.M., Christiana. He also enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are two sons: Gerald Robert Hershey, West Chester and Frank Wayne Hershey, Honey Brook; a brother F. Wayne Hershey, Cains; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters Esther Ann Reeser, Eleanor Hershey and Elizabeth O’Donnell and a granddaughter, April S. Hershey.
